Winkleman, Pullum pace Harrisburg at SIRR Ohio meet

Luke Winkleman turned in the top time for the Harrisburg boys' cross country team, finishing at 19:50 for a 21st place finish at last week's Southern Illinois River-To-River Ohio Division cross country race at Riverside Park in Murphysboro.

Tyler Depew was 24th, turning in a time of 20:45, while Luke Miller was 30th, crossing the line at 21:22. Doc Harrawood (36th, 24:43) and Ryan Wilson (38th, 26:49) rounded out the scoring for Harrisburg.

Benton won the team event, scoring 16 points, while Herrin (47), West Frankfort (73), Murphysboro (76), Massac County (147) and Harrisburg (149) rounded out the teams.

The Harrisburg girls had no team score, as Benton scored 25 to earn the Rangerettes their third title in three years. Murphysboro was second with 56 points, while Herrin took third with 81 points. West Frankfort (87) and Massac County (121) rounded out the scoring.

Individually, Aubrey Pullum was 21st overall for Harrisburg, turning in a time of 24:30. Zoey Brand was 33rd with a time of 26:55 and Lauren Gribble had a time of 29:17 and finished 35th. Lily Siler was 36th for the Bulldogs, crossing the line at 31:33.

<b>Hadley places third at GEC Conference race<b>

At the Greater Egyptian conference meet last week, Carrier Mills-Stonefort's Robbie Hadley had a third place finish with a time of 20:32 in the boys' race.

Jacob Reeves turned in a time of 21:59 for a 12th place finish, while Dc Stout was 16th, finishing in a time of 22:30. Nathan Collins crossed the line at 26:22 for a 26th place finish.

I was proud of Robbie for placing 3rd in the conference," CMSF head coach Mike Eisenhauer said. "The kids have really improved this year and I am proud of their effort.  They have been a good group to coach and now we will prepare for Regionals."

In the girls' race, Lizzie Bristow was seventh in a time of 29:33, while Kaylee Smith was right behind at 29:57 for an eighth place finish. Emma Odum and Layna Odum were 12th and 13th respectively, as Emma had a time of 32:35 and Layna finished in a time of 32:43.
