Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School senior Loren Whiting turned in a stellar performance Friday at the NCOE Invitational as he took top honors.

Whiting - led wire to wire - crossing the finish line in a time of 18:38.

"I was really happy wit the way Loren ran today," head coach Mike Eisenhauer said. "He led the entire race and had a pretty comfortable lead the majority of the way. Loren will continue to get stronger because we have not been able to do much in practice because of the hot weather."

Billy Lewis turned in a time of 25:56 for CMSF, finishing with a time of 25:56.

"I thought Billy did a nice job too," Eisenhauer said. "This was his first race as he is only a freshman. I thought he ran well for just starting to run."

Other teams competing at NCOE included Harrisburg, Eldorado, Hamilton County, Carmi-White County, Pope County and the host, NCOE.
