CROSS COUNTRY: PCHS boys win again at West Frankfort
The Pinckneyville Panthers continued to rack up the wins in boys cross country on Tuesday, winning the 11-team West Frankfort Invitational with four runners inside the top ten individual finishers.
Panthers Grant Batteau (3rd), Caleb Logan (4th), Cale Jausel (5th), Garret Johnson (7th), Brady Louis (11th) and Dustin Bartnicki (15th) gave PCHS six runners out of the top 15 boys to cross the finish line.
Du Quoin placed fifth in the boys race with Caleb Davis (13th) and Jordan Kirkpatrick (18th) cracking the top 20.
The Lady Indians fared better, placing third among eight girls squads, one spot ahead of the Lady Panthers.
Du Quoin's was led by Andrea Lopez in 10th, followed by Quinn Kirkpatrick (14th), Kate Smith (17th) and Chloe Hill (20th). Pinckneyville's top finishers was Sophie Keith, who finished 6th overall.
Herrin took first place as a team in the girls' race.
Pinckneyville's cross country teams are at Chester on Thursday. Du Quoin's next meet is the Pinckneyville Invitational on October 8.
