CROSS COUNTRY: Panthers win Nashville Invitational

The Pinckneyville Panthers picked up another cross country trophy on Monday, winning the 18-team Nashville Invitational as 6 PCHS runners finished in the top 29 for the boys' race.

Cale Jausel was 8th overall at a time of 16:59.2 to lead the Panthers and was joined in the top-10 by Grant Batteau, who was tenth. Caleb Logan was 19th, Garrett Johnson 21st, Brady Louis 23rd and Hayden Carter 29th.

Du Quoin's boys were 15th at Nashville. Jordan Kirkpatrick led the Indians with his time of 18:32.7, good for 46th. Caleb Davis (52nd) and Nick King (70th) also cracked the top 100.

In the girls' race, the Lady Indians finished 4th of 14 teams while the Lady Panthers were 10th.

Du Quoin was led by Andrea Lopez, 14th overall. Olivia Cravens was 27th, Chloe Hill 31st, Kate Smith 33rd, Hope Stewart 56th.

PCHS's Sophie Keith finished the race 6th. Other Lady Panthers runners included Lindsey Taylor (52nd), Hannah Porter (57th), Taylor Smith (66th) and Madison Garavaglia (69th).

DHS and PCHS's teams travel to Benton on Thursday.
