CMSF boys take second at NCOE

The Carrier Mills-Stonefort cross country team capped off the week Thursday in a match at Norris City, where the boys' squad finished second, 21 points behind the host Cardinals.

NCOE finished with 41 points, while the Wildcats counted for 62 points. Pope County (62), and Crab Orchard (70) rounded out the team scoring, while Gallatin County and Thompsonville also participated.

Robbie Hadley paced the Wildcats with a fourth place finish and a time of 18:30, while Aidan Rollins scored a seventh place finish with a time of 19:04. D.C Stout was 14th with a time of 20:12, Zaiver Rollins finished 16th with a time of 20:27 and Nathan Collins was 21st with a time of 21:25.

On the girls' side, Lizzie Bristow was eight overall, crossing the line at 26:25 and Kaylee Klope was ninth, finishing with a time of 26:36. Emma Odum took 12th with a time of 29:04 and Layna Odum was 13th with a time of 30:25.

"All of the kids ran really well (Thursday)," CMSF head coach Mike Eisenhauer said. "Several of the kids improved their time six or seven minutes from the first time we ran here three weeks ago. They ran with really good effort. We keep improving and we are excited to see how fast we can get."

On Monday, CMSF took part in a meet Monday at Gallatin County, that also included Eldorado and Thompsonville.

On the boys' side, Robbie Hadley took first with a time of 19:22, while Jacob Reeves was second for the Wildcats with a time of 19:25. DC Stout scored a third place finish with a time of 20:03, while Zavier Rollins had a time of 21:25 for a sixth place finish and Nathan Collins was eighth, crossing the line at 22:23.

On the girls' side for CMSF, Lizzie Bristow was fourth overall, finishing in a time of 26:52, while Kaylee Smith finished fifth with a time of 29:52. Emma Odum was sixth with a time of 30:19 and Layna Odum was seventh in a time of 30:54.

"We had a good week of practice last week and it paid dividends," Eisenhauer added. "Several of the kids ran their best times of the season."
