Prep Girls Hoops: 'Dogs pick up win at Murphysboro

Two Bulldogs finished in double figures as Harrisburg knocked off Murphysboro 63-26 Monday night in a SIRR Ohio road win.

Riley Harrison had a game-high 19 points for the Bulldogs, as the senior guard 7-for-11 from the field and 4-of-7 from 3-point range, while Sidney Neal tacked on 10 points for Harrisburg.

Harrisburg jumped out to an 18-12 first quarter lead and outscored the Red Devils 19-2 in the second quarter to lead 37-14 at halftime.

The Bulldogs then outscored Murphysboro 26-12 in the second half, picking up the 37-point victory.

Kameron Adams and Chelsea Davidson each scored six points for Harrisburg, while Frankie Leigh Nicholes finished with five points. Vershay Guyton flipped in four points, while McKenzie Smothers and Keely Hines each tacked on three points. Kailyn Moss tossed in two points.

Harrisburg shot 20-of-51 from the field and went 11-for-26 from 3-point range, while knocking down 12-of-21 free throws.

Harrisburg returns to the court Thursday at home against Herrin.

<b>Fairfield 49, Eldorado 46</b>

Fairfield outscored Eldorado 21-17, holding off a late rally by the Eagles in earning a 49-46 Black Diamond Conference win Monday night.

Adrianna Hendrix, who had five 3-pointers and went 3-of-4 from the free throw line had a career-high 22 points for Eldorado.

Lily Moby also finished in double figures for the Eagles scoring 13 points, while Karis Lane added eight points and Alexa Haenel finished with three points.

Val Dagg had a team-high12 points for Fairfield and was the only Mule to finish in double figures.

The Eagles are scheduled to play at Edwards County Thursday and will travel to Mt. Carmel on Saturday night.
