Girls Basketball: 3 For All

Harrisburg knocked down 13 3-pointers as a team on the way to taking down West Frankfort 69-32 Tuesday night at Davenport Gym in a SIRR Ohio Division contest.

Junior Ashley Ferrell hit seven treys and finished with 26 points on the night. Ferrell's efforts tied the school record for 3-pointers made in a game with Laura Thompson.

Freshman Alexa Burtis hit four 3-pointers and dropped in 12 points. Lindsey Murray was in double figures with 11.

Devan Jones chipped in with seven points, while Shelby Boer netted six. Kelsey Hobbs finished with five points, while Malayna Douglas tacked on two points.

Harrisburg (11-2, 3-1) jumped out to a 13-0 lead midway through the first quarter, finishing with a 20-6 lead after one period. The Lady Bulldogs extended their lead to 36-15 at the half, outscoring West Frankfort 16-7 in the second period.

Frankfort (4-10, 1-4) was paced by freshman's Jacklynn Calvert's 13 points. Kiarha Wilce added eight for the Redbirds. Harrisburg had won earlier in the season against Frankfort at the Lady Bulldog Preview Tournament.

Harrisburg also took Tuesday's preliminary game 37-24 as they improved to 9-0 on the year.

In that game, Burtis had four 3-pointers, giving her a total of eight on the night between both games.

Lilee Robinson and Hayley Thompson each finished with seven points, while Kelsey Hobbs, Hannah Bartok, Kaytlyn Keith and Miranda Foster all had two points.
