Four HHS speech team members advance to state

HARRISBURG - Four Harrisburg High School speech team members will take their talents to the Illinois High School Association State speech tournament Friday and Saturday after advancing at the Carbondale Sectional contest.

Ravyn Gauch and Addie Hanks took first-place honors in Dramatic Duet Acting.

Hanks also took first place in Dramatic Interpretation.

Gauch also won first place in Prose Reading.

Javen Wendler and Avah Businaro took second place in Humorous Duet Acting.

The team is coached by Tina Mondino, Hannah Owen and Zach Hanks.

The IHSA State Finals speech tournament is Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22, at the Peoria Civic Center, 201 SW Jefferson Ave, Peoria, IL 61602.
