Prep Golf: Nicholes shoots 81 to win on Prep Tour for first time

Frankie Leigh Nicholes took home first place over the weekend, firing an 81 to win at Ironhorse Golf Club in Tuscola on the Illinois Prep Tour.

Nicholes, who played in the High School Girls Division, was one shot off the lead after shooting an 81 on Friday. She battled with O'Fallon's Shaylee Fricken Saturday, going back-and-forth, finally winning with a two-putt on the 18th hole to secure her first win on the Prep Tour.

The Prep Tour is a central Illinois based golf tour and this was Nicholes' third prep tour event. Prior to this weekend, Nicholes placed fourth at The Rail in Springfield and Quail Meadows in Washington.
