Prep Baseball: Six 'Dogs named to SIRR Ohio All-Conference Team

A total of six Harrisburg baseball players were named to this year's Southern Illinois River-To-River Ohio All-Conference team.

Drew Hawkins, Chance Moscardelli, Jackson Pittman, Bryant Lester, Camron Ande and Ethan Golish represented the Bulldogs on the diamond this past spring.

Golish led the Bulldogs with 47 hits in 121 at bats, including a team-high 33 singles. The sophomore second baseman had a co-team-high 32 RBI and a team-high 41 runs scored. Golish finished with a .388 batting average and had a .457 on base percentage.

Ande was second on the team with 46 hits in 117 at bats, while the sophomore shortstop had 32 RBI and 33 runs scored. Ande finished the season with a .393 batting average and had a .463 on base percentage.

Lester had 21 hits in 74 at bats this season. The senior catcher had 20 RBI and scored eight runs. He finished with a .284 batting average and a .442 on base percentage.

Pittman had 36 hits in 87 at bats, including 29 singles, five doubles and two triples. The senior drove in 15 runs and scored 30 runs, while finishing with a .414 batting average and a .527 on base percentage.

Pittman led the 'Dogs with a .936 ERA and a team-high 84 strikeouts. Pittman, who will play next season at Lincoln Trail, had a 6-1 record this past season and led the team in innings pitched at 52.1.

Hawkins pitched in 41.2, finishing the season with a 5-3 record. Hawkins, who is headed to Union College this fall, had a 3.378 ERA, giving up 31 runs (23 earned) on 37 hits with 49 strikeouts and 27 walks.

Moscardelli, who will be playing his college ball at Lincoln Trail next season, had a 2.520 ERA and was 6-0 on the season. The right hander had 58 strikeouts and 25 walks, while giving up 31 runs (15 earned) on 40 hits.

While Harrisburg put six on the SIRR Ohio All-Conference team, Benton finished with five members, including Jacob Kinsman, Tyler Chamness, Chase Thomas, Asher Wyant and Reid Baumgarte.
