Prep Softball: Eldorado drops contest to Galatia, Flora

Galatia rallied from two runs down, scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held off a late rally by Eldorado to pick up a 8-7 victory Friday afternoon.

Eldorado had 17 hits on the afternoon as Kaitlyn Mayberry and Hannah Farmer each had three hits on the day as Mayberry went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Farmer was 3-for-4.

Adrianna Hendrix, Kaylee Oglesby, Hallie Kate Oldham, Sydney Farmer and Piper Debose all had two hits on the day for the Eagles with Oglesby going 2-for-5 with a team-high two RBI. Farmer and Debose each finished with one RBI.

Hendrix scored a pair of runs for Eldorado, while Farmer, Oldham and Kylie Potts all scored one run. Cassidy Wells was 1-for-4 for EHS.

Oldham took the loss for the Eagles in the circle as she gave up eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits, striking out five and walking four.

Emma Carlile got the win in the circle, reliving starter Alyssa Hankins after one inning. Carlile allowed five earned runs on 16 hits with three K's and one walk. Hankins struck out one and gave up one hit.

At the dish, Sam Nolen paced the Bearcats, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Mollie Peterson, who had a home run for Galatia, was 2-for-3 with a game-high three RBI and two runs scored, while Destiny Justice was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Kyra Blades, Halona Presley, Hankins and Carlile all had one hit.

On Thursday, Eldorado dropped a 10-9 contest to BDC rival Flora, where Oldham took the loss.

She gave up 10 runs (five earned) on 11 hits with two walks and one strikeouts.

The Eagles had eight hits on the day as Hannah Farmer and Wells led the charge, both going 2-for-4. Wells drove in a team-high two RBI and scored a run, while Farmer finished with an RBI and a run scored.

Mayberry, who had a team-high two runs scored, went 1-for-3 at the plate, joining Hendrix, Oldham and Sydney Farmer as players to collect one hit.

Brooklyn Biggerstaff scored one run, as did Debose, Oldham and Hendrix.

Eldorado is now 3-12 on the season and 0-7 in Black Diamond Conference play. The Eagles will travel to Carmi Tuesday and will host the Bulldogs on Thursday. On Friday, EHS will close out the week in a makeup game at Benton.
