Prep Softball: Red Devils get revenge on Harrisburg

Harrisburg couldn't complete the conference sweep of Murphysboro, falling to the Red Devils 8-1 Friday on the road.

The Bulldogs (16-6, 4-3 SIRR Ohio) were held to one hit as Kerrigan Payne went 1-for-1, plating the lone run with an RBI, scoring McKenzie Boyd from second in the third inning.

Murphysboro, who split with Harrisburg in the regular season, scored two runs in the first inning, followed by three in the second inning and two in the fourth and a final run in the fifth inning.

Payne took the loss in the circle, going six innings and facing 32 batters, allowing eight runs on 10 hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
