Prep Baseball: Bulldogs beat Eldorado with Wilson's walk-off single

Harrisburg, who is 8th in the newest MaxPreps rankings, knocked off Eldorado 3-2 in a non-conference game Tuesday at Jay Thompson Field.

The game wasn't short on drama as a walk-off single by Grant Wilson scored Reed Rider for the game-winner as the Bulldogs improved to 9-1 on the season.

Eldorado (1-3) drew first blood when Nic Stanford drove in Chase Kittinger with a ground out to third. Kittinger reached on an error to open the game.

The Eagles grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the third when Stanford singled on a line drive to right field, scoring Kittinger, who reached base with a lead off single to right field.

Harrisburg cut the deficit in half with a sacrifice-fly to center, scoring Riley King in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Bulldogs tied the game at two as the duo of Miller and King came through agains as Miller singled to left field, scoring King in the bottom of the sixth.

After holding Eldorado scoreless in the top of the seventh, Harrisburg got a lead off bunt single by Reed Rider. After Rider stole second, Blake Stacey lined out to first and Wilson's hard grounder to left scored Rider for the game winner.

Harrisburg was held to five hits on the day as Ethan Golish, King, Miller, Rider and Wilson all had singles.

Eldorado was limited to three hits on the day as Parker Price, Kittinger and Stanford all had singles.

On the bump, Noah Arnold picked up the win for Harrisburg in relief of Ross Rider. Arnold went 2.2 innings, striking out four, while Rider got the start and went 4.1 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits, while striking out seven and walking one.

Price took the loss for Eldorado, striking out seven, while allowing three runs on five hits.

The Bulldogs' game against Hardin County Wednesday was canceled due to weather. Harrisburg will play host to Anna-Jonesboro today (Friday) at 4:30 p.m.
