Prep Boys Hoops: Eldorado handles West Frankfort in non-conference action

Eldorado improved to 9-7 with a dominant 54-25 win over West Frankfort Wednesday night in non-conference action.

The Eagles put two players in double figures as Josh Owens had a game-high 19 points, while Parker Price finished with 14 points.

Boston Bradley netted nine for the Eagles, while Brock Cantrell and Trevor Milligan each finished with five points. Gage Heath had a second quarter bucket for two points.

With the loss, West Frankfort is now 3-12 on the season.

<b>Cobden 53, Harrisburg 39</b>

Despite 17 points from Michael Godsey, including 12 in the fourth quarter, Harrisburg fell 53-39 to Cobden Tuesday night in a game played at John A. Logan Community College.

Cobden High School is having to play all its games on the road this season as its gymnasium is being renovated.

Cobden played Harrisburg to an 8-7 first quarter lead and outscored the Bulldogs 9-4 to grab a 17-11 halftime lead. The Appleknockers kept Harrisburg at bay in the second half, taking a 27-22 lead into the final eight minutes, where the outscored the 'Dogs 26-17.

Cameron Ande added eight points for the Bulldogs, while Tevin Godsey, Chris Allen and Nate Lawrence all finished with four points. Vaundre McIntosh had two points in the fourth quarter in the loss.

Cobden junior Tyler Franklin led all scorers with 20 points, while Elliott Lowndes scored 16 points and Brock Reynolds rounded out the double figure scoring with 10 points. Edwin Funes scored seven points for the Appleknockers.
