Prep Wrestling: Keene finishes first for Bulldogs at Murdale Tournament

Harrisburg had a trio of podium finishes at Saturday's Murdale Wrestling Tournament as Tony Keene led the charge with a first place finish.

The Bulldog, wrestling in the 113-pound division, beat Goreville's Briley Lehmen with a pin fall at 1:07 for the championship.

Keene also registered wins over Carterville's Landyn Flood, Trico's Kreaghton Downen, Marion's Brennan Vogt and Anna-Jonesboro's Zoee Sadler.

Harrisburg's Bryant Lester was second overall in the 195-pound division, losing to Carbondale's Aiden Taylor by a 5-4 decision in the championship match.

Leading up to the championship match, Lester picked up wins over Chatham Glenwood's Eli Scratch-Moss, Cahokia's Tyrese Brownlee and Qunicy's Gage Bringer.

Sebastian Brown picked up a seventh place finish for the Bulldogs in the 132-pound division Saturday.

After receiving a bye, Brown beat Wet Frankfort J Jenkins by pin fall at 3:44 and then lost to Benton's Mason Tieffel, followed by a loss to Quincy's Dylan Becker. In the seventh place match, Brown los to Benton's Skylar Pauley.

Harrisburg's Briar Butler (126-pound) finished 10th at Murdale, Jakorey Mann (220), Javier Horton (285) andCaleb Williford (182) all finished 13th, Alayna Stone (120-pound) was 16th, Henry Quinn (195-pounds) was 17th, Trentn Price (160) finished 18th, Dathan Case (152) finished 19th and Cody Gunter (138) finished 20th.
