Harrisburg erased a five-point second half deficit to come back and beat Trico 60-49 to win the fifth place trophy Saturday at the Murphysboro-Trico Tournament.
The Bulldogs conclude their week 2-2 notching wins over Chester and Trico, while falling to Lovejoy and Murphysboro.
Michael Godsey, who exploded for 16 of his game-high 27 points in the second half, led Harrisburg in scoring, while Cameron Ande finished in double figure with 11 points. Chris Allen, who scored six straight points in the third quarter to help erase that five-point deficit, tacked on 10 points for the Bulldogs.
Nate Lawrence scored seven points, six of which came in the first quarter when Harrisburg trailed by one, 12-11. Myles Crank had three points in the fourth quarter, while Ross Rider tossed in two points.
Harrisburg trailed by one at halftime, 24-23 as there were five lead changes and two ties. The Bulldogs' biggest deficit in the game was six points in the second quarter, tying the game at 14-all and then grabbing a 22-16 advantage late in the first half.
Trico's Hunter Baker went coast-to-coast to tie the game at 42-all with under 7:00 to play in the fourth quarter and Harrisburg used aa 5-0 run, grabbing a 47-42 lead and went on to outscore the Pioneers 18-11 in the final eight minutes.
Logan Cleland led Trico with 26 points, whileGavin Wilkis scored 10 points.
Murphysboro 58, Harrisburg 36
Harrisburg put seven players in the scoring column, but it wasn't enough as Murphysboro 58-36 Friday night in the Ernie Bozarth Tournament.
The Bulldogs were 5-of-13 from the free throw line, while MHS went 22-for-29, including a 10-for-11 clip in the fourth quarter as the Red Devils extended on a 34-31 third quarter lead.
Michael Godsey was the only Harrisburg player in double figures, scoring 10 points, while Chris Allen netted nine points. Cameron Ande added eight points, while Nate Lawrence tacked on three points. Vaundre McIntosh, Ross Rider and Myles Crank all had two points.
Harrisburg 48, Chester 44
Harrisburg put two players in double figures as Cameron Ande had a team-high 16 points, while Michael Godsey tossed in 14 points as the Bulldogs knocked off Chester 48-44 Wednesday night at the Ernie Bozarth Tournament in Murphysboro.
Chris Allen just missed out on double digit scoring the 'Dogs, netting nine points, while Myles Crank finished with five points. Karmello Downey tossed in two points, while Ross Rider added a free throw, where Harrisburg went 20-for-30 on the night.
