Pinckneyville Community High School volleyball topped Nashville in straight sets 25-21, 25-21 on Tuesday night to clinch the SIRR Mississippi Division outright, the Panthers fifth straight share of the conference championship.

The Panthers won the back-and-forth first set with a strong finish and carried that momentum into the second set with a fast start and consistent play, never giving up a lead or tie to the Hornettes.

The Panther win left all opponents with at least three losses to the Panthers' one loss, clinching the title in the strong Mississippi Division with only Thursday night's match at Carterville left for the Panthers.

Du Quoin travels to Nashville on Thursday in the battle for the second place position in the conference.

Pinckneyville won the conference championship outright in 2017-18, shared the crown with Nashville in 2018-19 and 2019-2020, and has won the top spot outright for the past two years.
