Prep Football: Carmi's fast start too much for Eagles

Eldorado racked up 246 yards of offense, including 190 on the ground but couldn't keep pace with Carmi-White County in a 44-30 loss on a difficult, somber night Friday at Boz Adams Field in Eldorado.

The Eagles were dealing with the loss of a classmate Friday, taking on a Bulldog bunch that is now 5-2 after the Black Diamond Conference win, while the Eagles drop to 1-6.

After Isac King got CWC on the scoreboard in the first quarter, Eldorado tied things up at 6-all after Brock Cantrell found the end zone from 20 yards out.

From there, CWC would score 38 unanswered points, holding a 44-6 lead going into the fourth quarter when Eldorado was able to rattle off three scores.

Dylan Henshaw had a pair of rushing touchdowns, one from 38 yards out and another from 30 yards out, while Parker Price hooked up with Chaz Hendrix on a 30-yard pass play.

Price finished with 56 yards on 2-of-7 passing with two interceptions and one touchdown, while Hendrix had his one catch for 30 yards. Josh Owens had one catch for 26 yards.

On the ground, Dylan Henshaw led the Eagles with 117 yards on 16 carries and two TD's. Brock Cantrell racked up 48 yards on nine carries, while Isaac Barrett had 25 yards on two carries.

Carmi-White County had 358 yards of total offense with 286 coming on the ground.

Eldorado travels to Christopher Friday night to take on a Bearcat ball club that is 1-6, with the lone win coming in a forfeit loss to Vienna-Goreville, the same as Eldorado.
