Girls volleyball: Pinckneyville over Du Quoin in exciting 3-set match

Panther volleyball has been on a roll since they lost to Du Quoin after a 20-day pause due to COVID-19. A three-set win for Pinckneyville in the follow-up "Battle of Beaucoup" on Tuesday night helped to avenge that earlier loss.

Both teams' student sections brought the noise for support. Du Quoin took advantage of Panther serving errors in the first set for the 25-15 win, but the Panthers defended their home court in the close second set, 25-20.

Pinckneyville carried that momentum into the decisive third set, rolling to a 25-14 win.

With recent wins over Nashville, Carterville and DuQuoin, Pinckneyville now tops the conference race, with a home match against Nashville next Monday.

Du Quoin's record is a healthy 13-9-1. Their next match is Tuesday at home against Anna-Jonesboro. Pinckneyville is 13-5 and 4-1 in conference play.
