Seven Bulldogs named to SIRR All-Conference

What is likely the first of many more postseason accolades to come this summer, seven Harrisburg High School baseball players, were named to the Southern Illinois River-To-River Ohio All-Conference Team.

The list for the Bulldogs, which includes all seniors, were Javie Beal, Ben Brombaugh, Andrew Bittle, Noah Boon, Colby Morse, Krayton Morse and Brandon Banks.

Benton had the second most representatives on the team with five that included, TJ Cooke, Kanon Cantrell, Dillon Poe, Mitch Giacone and Jon Tate.

West Frankfort was highlighted by four players: Paxton Griffith, Lucas Whittington, Austin Tate and David Beasley. Massac County was represented by Logan Korte, Will Hannah and Luke Maurer, while Murphysboro put Payton Austin, Trenton Shepard and Aaron Sanders on the team. Herrin's lone representative was Cameon Evrard.

<b>Eagles place three on BDC East All-Conference Team</b>

Chase Kittinger, Parker Price and Bryant Byrd were all named to the Black Diamond Conference East All-Conference Team.

Fairfield's Maguire Taylor was named MVP and Edwards County's Kade St. Ledger was named Captain.

<b>Payne named All-South</b>

Harrisburg junior Kerrigan Payne was the lone Bulldog to be represented on the Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South Softball Team.

The 2A team featured 27 players and joining Payne on the team was Benton's Addisyn Miller.

Eleven players, including three from Woodlawn, were named to the 1A team, while seven players, four from Marion, were named to the 3A team.

The 1A Coach Of The Year was shared by Christ Our Rock Lutheran's Brian Crompton and Marissa/Coulterville's Laura Robison. The 2A Coach Of The Year honor went to Massac County's Molly Hargrove and the 3A honor went to Marion's Joy Neal.

Payne was also put on the Southern Illinois River-To-River Ohio All-Conference Team and joined teammate and sophomore Joey Quinn on the squad.
