'Dogs stay perfect with pair of wins

The Harrisburg baseball team picked up a pair of wins this week, beating Olney Richland County Monday and followed that up with a SIRR non-conference win over Anna-Jonesboro.

In the 8-3 win over A-J, the Bulldogs banged out nine hits as Ben Brombaugh was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Krayton Morse also had a multiple hit day for Harrisburg as he was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Javie Beal, Colby Morse, Luke Miller and Jackson Pittman all had one hit as Beal led off the game with a solo shot in the first inning and drove in two runs and scored one run. Colby Morse scored two runs, while Andrew Bittle, Cameron And and Miller all scored one run.

Harrisburg used three pitchers that combined to allow just two hits and two earned runs as Peyton Arnold got the win in the start. Arnold went five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits, while striking out eight.

Chance Moscardelli and Colby Morse each pitched one inning as Morse struck out two and Moscardelli had one K.

On Monday, Harrisburg knocked off Onley Richland County 6-0 and used four pitchers that combined to give up just four hits over seven innings.

Andrew Bittle got the start and the win as the senior threw 93 pitches, giving up just four hits, while striking out six and walking three.

Brandon Banks, Drew Hawkins and Colby Morse closed out the game, allowing no runs on no hits as Morse struck out one.

Offensively, Harrisburg had 12 hits on the day as Javie Beal went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI. Ben Brombaugh was 2-for-3 with a home run, finishing with two RBI and a run scored. Andrew Bittle also went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Noah Boon, who had a double, joined Colby Morse, Krayton Morse, Cameron Ande and Luke Mille as Bulldogs who had one hit. Boon and Miller each scored a run and drove in one run, while Krayton Morse and Ande each scored a run.
