Harrisburg stays perfect with win over Terriers

A big third inning saw Harrisburg score six runs, four of which came off a grand slam by Javie Beal as the Bulldogs knocked off Carbondale 12-2 late last week.

Beal was 2-for-3 with a pair of dingers and five RBI as Harrisburg improved to 5-0 on the season.

Noah Boon (2-0) stayed unbeaten as well as the senior worked 3.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on one hit, while striking out seven and walking three.

Brandon Banks came on in relief and did 2.1 innings of work, striking out four and walking just one.

Harrisburg collected eight hits on the day as Boon joined Beal in having multiple hit days, finishing 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI.

Andrew Bittle and Cameron And each had multiple hit days as well as Bittle went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Ande was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two walks.

Colby and Krayton Morse were both had one hit as Colby had a first inning single and scored one run. Krayton singled in the first and drove in a run.

Harrisburg's double header with Pinckneyville on Saturday was cancelled due to rain. The Bulldogs are set to host Anna-Jonesboro on Tuesday, starting at 4:30 p.m., following by a home game with Du Quoin Wednesday and will close out the week at Carmi-White County on Thursday and at Mt. Carmel for a double header on Saturday.
