Eagles pick up second straight win at CWC

Parker Price scored a pair of touchdowns and Eldorado won its second straight game, knocking off Carmi-White County 19-8 Saturday in Black Diamond Conference action.

Eldorado (2-1) racked up 297 yards of total offense against the Bulldogs, limiting them to 192.

The Eagles were balanced against Carmi-White County (0-3) picking up 164 yards on the ground and throwing for 133.

Eldorado head coach Joe Clark acknowledged the parity in the BDC, but didn't discredit the fight and determination his team has.

"We put ourselves in position to win and (Saturday) we were lucky to come out on top. This league is good and we have a lot of balanced teams. I grew up in Eldorado, so when you lose, it shakes you. When you win, you're just glad for the kids. We'll reflect on the record and things like that, but it means a lot, you try to appreciate the moment before it's a memory and try to enjoy it.

"We have a pretty good working relationship with those Carmi guys, so it's not bitter, and they have fought hard and come up short against us the past couple of years, but it's always nice to get a win, I don't care if we are playing the (Chicago) Bears.

Eldorado drew first blood in the opening quarter when Price found pay dirt from 11 yards out, giving the Eagles a 6-0 lead

Carmi-White County countered with a score of their own when Isaac King scored from three yards out and added the two-point conversion as the Bulldogs went up 8-6

But with 33 seconds left in the first half, Whitlock found Burtis in the end zone from 11 yards out, giving EHS a 12-8 halftime advantage.

Price scored the second of his two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, this time from four yards out as the Eagles extended their advantage to 19-8.

Price finished with 15 carries for 80 yards on the ground, while Dylan Henshaw rushed for 31 yards on 10 carries. Ezra Burtis had nine carries for 29 yards and Whitlock picked up 19 yards on four carries.

Under center, Whitlock finished with 133 yards on 7-of-8 passing, his longest coming in the form of a 29-yard strike.
