Brombaugh commits to LTC to continue baseball career

After years of playing with friends, most student-athletes go off to college alone, in hopes of making new friends.

For Ben Brombaugh, that could have been the case, but the Harrisburg senior will be surrounded by two Bulldog teammates after he joined Colby and Krayton Morse and signed his National Letter Of Intent to play baseball at Lincoln Trail College.

When Brombaugh signed, he was joined by Javie Beal (Parkland) and Noah Boon (SIC), who also signed NLOI.

Having the chance to play with two other teammates is something that Brombaugh is looking forward to.

"It'll be awesome," he said. "We've been friends since we were little, we grew up together and we'll continue that and work hard everyday."

As a sophomore, Brombaugh hit .245 with a slugging percentage of .283. He scored 19 runs on 13 hits, 11 of which were singles.

At Lincoln Trail, Brombaugh plans on getting his general studies out of the way and then pursue a major in physical therapy.

And as for signing with his classmates and current HHS teammates, it was significant and equally as special.

"Today means a lot," Brombaugh added. "I've been dreaming about this since I was a little kid. I've been working everyday to get better to have an opportunity to sign with a college and I'm really excited about this. So, this means a lot to me and I think it might even mean more for our program. We had four guys last year and now five guys this year. That's a whole starting lineup and a really good one for any team. We all grew up together, so to be able to sign together, means a lot."
