SIU men's basketball team out of Louisville MTE due to COVID-19

On Thursday, Shannon Russell reported on twitter that positive corona virus tests have forced the Southern Illinois men's basketball team from competing in the upcoming Louisville Multi Team Event during Thanksgiving.

Via her account (@alrussell) Russel said: COVID keeps changing the complexion of college hoops. Per a source, positive tests have forced Southern Illinois' men's basketball team to bow out of the Wade Houston Tipoff Classic at the KFC Yum Center. Evansville is expected to join the field in its place.

SIU was scheduled to play Louisville, Prairie View A&M and Winthrop.

The Salukis will now open the season on December 2nd when they travel to Cape Girardeau to take on Southeast Missouri State, which is now coached by former SIU standout Brad Korn.
