Harrisburg picks up first wins of the year over weekend

The Harrisburg High School soccer team notched its first win of the season, shutting out Centralia 4-0 Thursday afternoon in the home opener for the Bulldogs.

Devin Butler had the hat trick for Harrisburg, notching three goals, while Josie Drone kicked in the other goal.

Angela Colby played goal for the Bulldogs, coming up with three saves.

On Saturday, Harrisburg posted another shutout, this time blanking Salem 4-0 at Michael Herrin Field.

Josie Drone had one goal and one assist, while Savannah Hobbs, Hayley Goolsby and Vershay Guyton all scored a goal for the Bulldogs.

Angela Colby played goal for a second straight game and came away with five saves.

Harrisburg was scheduled to play at Anna-Jonesboro on Monday. The Bulldogs will play at Pinckneyville on Thursday and will travel to Cape Central High School Saturday.
