Bittle, Hall represent 'Dogs at Sectional

It was a neck-to-neck battle, but in the end, Herrin nudged Benton 308-310 to capture the IHSA Class 2A Regional Tuesday at Kokopelli Golf Course in Marion.

Marion finished third on their home course, shooting a 337, while Carbondale was fourth with a 344. Massac County took fifth, firing a 346, while Harrisburg shot a 377. Mt. Vernon 9387) and Carterville (457) rounded out the field.

Individually, Harrisburg will send Andrew Bittle and Ashton Hall to next week's 2A Sectional at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale. Bittle shot a 90 (44-46), while Hall wasn't far behind with a 91 (48-43).

Other scores for Harrisburg included: Ben Brombaugh 96, Krayton Morse carded a 100, Hayden Emery shot a 116 and Colby Morse finished with a 121.

Herrin's Drew Ringle and Carbondale's Drew Hudgens each shot a pair of 72's to take medalist honors for low round.

EHS will send two to Sectionals

At the 1A Regional, held at Jackson County Country Club, the Eldorado duo of Evan Coyle and Noah Smith will compete at Monday's 1A Sectional in Effingham.

Coyle was second as an individual, finishing three shots back of medalist Edward Brees of Trico, as Coyle shot a 77.

Finishing fourth overall was Smith, who shot an 80 and the two will compete on Monday's 1A Sectional in Effingham,

Eldorado finished sixth as a team, shooting a team scored of 366. Other individual finishes included: Kaiden Lloyd (101), AJ Hankins (108), Austin Willis (109) and Ely Boulds (114).

West Frankfort (332), Trico (343) and Anna-Jonesboro (346) are the three teams that will advance to the Sectional.
