Five questions with ... Paul Bishop of Raleigh

On Monday, we visited the Memory Lane Car Show at the Saline County Fairgrounds, and talked to longtime racers and former owners of the Accelaquarter Raceway, Harrisburg's drag racing strip that opened in 1963. Paul Bishop is a veteran racer and one former owner of the drag strip.

Q. What is it you like about cars?

The thrill of going fast.

How long have you been a car guy?

I've been racing since 1966.

What was your first car?

A 1956 Plymouth.

What has been your favorite car?

That would be this car here, which I've had since 1976. It's almost like a member of the family. It's a 1970 model Super Bee.

If you could have any car, what would it be?

Probably one of those NHRA Pro Stockers, but they're a little above my pay grade.
