Betty Ann King, 76, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, in Wink, Texas.

She was born Sept. 8, 1946, in Chicago Heights to Earl and Bernice (Schmidt) Burton. Betty married Willis Baker King, and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 1989.

Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wink. She enjoyed gardening and reading in her spare time. Betty also loved listening to music and found meaning and immense joy in the songs that helped shape her life. Her favorite musician was Bob Dylan. Betty had a truly compassionate heart and loved being of service to others, especially during her time as a registered nurse. She helped countless families throughout her career during their most difficult times as the owner of Rural Hospice, and Rural Home Health.

Paying it forward came easily to Betty and she often sacrificed so that someone else had a better quality of life. This is her legacy. Betty was known as "Nana" to her grandkids and "Yaya" to her great grandkids. She will be dearly missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathy Austin and husband Robert Mason of Midland, Texas; grandchildren Kane Kolisek and wife Danielle, Ethan Austin and wife Mirella Salcedo, Eli Augusta, and Joey Augusta and fiancé Malorie Gray; and great-grandchildren Khloe, Grayson and Elayna.
