Rhonda Lynn Gilliam, 65, of Tamaroa, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Rhonda was a bus driver at Head Start for 37½ years.
She was born May 29, 1957 in Du Quoin, Illinois, the daughter of William Dale and Sharon (Lashbrook) Rice.
She married Robert D. Gilliam on June 7, 1975 in Sunfield, Illinois and he survives.
Rhonda is survived by her husband of Tamaroa; two sons, Robby (Valerie) Gilliam of Tamaroa and Nick (Samantha) Gilliam of Sesser; her father and stepmother, William Dale and Mary Rice of Sesser; four sisters, Kim (Leo) Russell of Du Quoin, Krista (Tracy) Mills of Du Quoin, Kendra (Clem) Campanella of Mulkeytown and Kelly (Russ) Brenner of Panama City Beach, Florida; one stepbrother, Michael Lasky; one stepsister, Sandra Borkowski; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and her Head Start family.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with Rev. Leon Kelly officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 and from 9 a.m. to the time of service on Friday, all at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends are invited to make memorials in Rhonda's name to Perry County Head Start; they will be accepted at the funeral home.
