Richard Jacob 'Jake' Naumer Sr.

Richard "Jake" Naumer Sr., age 67, of St. Charles, Missouri and formerly of Du Quoin, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022 in his home.

Jake was born on Jan. 16, 1954 in Du Quoin, Illinois, a son to Jacob Barber and Helen (Tenney) Naumer. He attended Kemper Military School in Boonville, Missouri and then graduated from Du Quoin High School. He earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

Jake was a stockbroker, first vice president at Stifel Nicolaus in St. Louis, and a former UMWA tractor operator at Consol Energy Inc. He was the owner and operator of Capital Investment Group and Cash Express of Southern Illinois.

Jake was also a musician who loved blues and rock & roll. He also enjoyed playing golf, poker and pool.

Survivors include his son, Richard Jacob Naumer Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; his daughter, Katherine Chandler Naumer of Houston, Texas; his mother, Helen Naumer of Carbondale; a brother, Scott Naumer of Carbondale; a sister, Tenney Naumer of Carbondale; and a niece, Alais Elena de Hoogh of Tiburon, California.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Naumer.

A celebration of life will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13 at Pyatt Funeral Home in Du Quoin, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to participate by sharing their stories of Jake. A visitation will be held before the celebration, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., also at the funeral home.
