Ronald 'Duck' Olin Link of Chester
Ronald "Duck" Olin Link, 83, of Chester, Illinois, passed away on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 at his residence.
He was born to the late Harold Joseph and Ina Dott (nee Straight) Link on Feb. 21, 1938 in Chester.
Ronald married Nan Kathryn Beers on Oct. 19, 1963 in Chester; she preceded him in death on April 21, 2016.
He was a production manager at McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis for 30 years. He was a member of St. Cletus Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #823 and American Legion Post #312, all in St. Charles, Missouri.
Ronald was a supporter of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester and once taught at St. Mary's Catholic School in Chester. He was an avid reader of history books and biographies.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include one daughter, Tricia R. Link of St. Louis; eight siblings, Dean (Bitzie) Link of Chester, Harold (Michelle) Link of Chester, Dale (Marsha) Link of Chester, Susan (Mark) Goetting of Chester, Janice (David) Cole of Joliet, Illinois, Leta (Richard) Heuman of Chester, Bonita Horn of Chester and Darla (Larry) Wilson of Chester; two brothers-in-law, James (Vicki) Beers of Chester and Philip (Mary) Beers of Springfield, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Kenneth) Volle of St. Charles, Missouri and Susan Tharp of Auburn, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother and his wife, Jack (Sandra) Link; and three brothers-in-law, Glen Horn, Larry Wilson and Kenneth Volle.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester, with Fr. Iuvenius Iheme officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Chester.
Visitation with be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service, at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester.
