Loving life as she lived it, beautiful, loving, funny and determined Ludene Craig, 85, of Bedford, Indiana -- and formerly of Carrier Mills -- passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at home surrounded by her devoted daughters.

She will always be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Mia (John) Hughes of Bedford, Indiana; Mary (Jon) Pritchett of Bedford, Indiana and Myra (Ethan) Bohenkamp of Mitchell, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Valgene Craig; three sisters, Wanda Wall, Ladora Deaton and Juanita McCormack; and a brother, James Lavern Deaton.
Ludene was a lifelong member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church near New Burnside. She was president of the Carrier Mills Water Board for more than 38 years. She worked for many years at Patton's Cafe in Junction, Illinois.
As many know, one of Ludene's greatest pleasures was cooking for others, and especially for her family, whom she was so lovingly devoted. Ludene will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but we are comforted, knowing she is with her Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church near Stonefort.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills and Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. The Revs. Tracy Killinger and Ron Ferguson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Ludene's memory.
