Robert Miles Manser, 36, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:28 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at his residence.

Robert was a member of the cafeteria staff at the Du Quoin elementary and middle school. He was involved in after-school programs at the middle school, girls basketball, and the summer meal program, and he helped run the scoreboard for sporting events at the grade school and high school.

Robert was a member of the Liberty Church in Du Quoin, where he ran the sound system for many years.

He was born June 9, 1985 at Hialeah, Florida, the son of Richard Miles Jr. and Mary (Van) Manser.

He married Erin McPherson on July 6, 2013 at Sarasota, Florida and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin; their daughter, Ellie Manser of Du Quoin; his father and stepmother, Richard Jr. and Ingrid Manser of North Miami Beach, Florida; his father- and mother-in-law, Paul and Ellen McPherson of Du Quoin; one sister, Jean Mary Manser; stepsiblings Miguel Black, Raheem Rivere and Jonelle Rivere; nephews and nieces, Caleb Miles Manser, Daniel Black, Gabriel Black, Rachael Black, April Black, Carter McPherson and Quade McPherson; brothers-in-law Zach (Bethany) McPherson of Du Quoin and Wesley (Samantha) McPherson of Kannapolis, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; and grandparents William and Mary Hogue and Richard Miles Sr. and Jean Manser.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Liberty Church in Du Quoin with the Rev. Lon McPherson officiating.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.

Friends may make memorials to the Education Fund for Robert's daughter, Ellie, with donations made in care of Erin Manser. They will be accepted at the church or funeral home.
