Janice M. 'Judy' Ridgeway of Du Quoin

Janice M. "Judy" Ridgeway, 69, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:03 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 at the Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Judy had worked at Essex, Bridal Originals and the Fairview Nursing Center. She was a member of Matthews Baptist Church in Pinckneyville. Judy was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She was born July 6, 1951 at Richlands, Virginia, the daughter of Thomas E. Hess Jr. and Dorothy Mae (Brown) Hess.

Judy married Jack E. Ridgeway on Oct. 23, 2003 at the Matthews Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2020.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Billie) Davis of Du Quoin; four grandchildren, Dustin (Kayla) Williams of Herrin, Amber Williams of Du Quoin, Brandi (Todd) Yates of Elkville and Crystal Williams of Champaign; two great-grandchildren, Cadence Williams and Cami Williams; siblings Linda (Chester) Eisenhauer of Du Quoin, Sandra (Gary) Timpner of Pinckneyville, John David (Ellen) Hess of Texas, Debra Casey of Virginia, and Brenda Varner of Du Quoin; plus many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings Margaret Eisenhauer, Kenneth Hess and Richard Hess.

Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020 at the Old Du Quoin Cemetery with Rev. Tom Stearns officiating.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the cemetery.

Guests are asked to use social distancing guidelines, and everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the Old Du Quoin Cemetery, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
