Christopher Dean Ferrell, age 59, of Galatia, passed away at 9:36 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Harrisburg Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
Chris was born on Sept. 12, 1960 in Harrisburg to the late Bonnie (Palmer) Ferrell. On Oct. 17, 2003 he married Tina Lane, and she survives.
Chris was a retired coal mine manager. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed all things outdoors, but was especially fond of taking care of his cattle. He enjoyed working on his John Deere tractors and loved GMC pickup trucks. Chris was an independent man who worked very hard.
In addition to his wife, Tina, Chris is survived by three children, his son, Justin (Leslie) Ferrell of Galatia, daughter, Naomi Tullis of Eldorado and son Patrick (Shelly) Tullis of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Laney Jo Adams, Kaydence Goben and Addison Goben; sister, Debbie (Jerry) Jones of Harrisburg; brother, Randy (Judith) Ferrell of Henderson, Kentucky; nieces and nephews, Misty (Brandon) Stone of Norris City and Nathan (Jenny) Ferrell of Mount Vernon, Indiana; and great-nieces and nephews, Wyatt Stone and Weston Stone of Norris City and Carson Ferrell and Connor Ferrell of Mount Vernon, Indiana.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother and grandson, Elliot "Little Giggle Bunny" Tullis.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2020 at Cave Hill Cemetery, Cave-in-Rock. Pastor Kevin Peyton officiated.
Memorials may be made to Village Community Church of Galatia, the Elliot Tullis Foundation at University of Kentucky Children's Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
