Robert L. Potts, 77, Red Bud
Robert Lee Potts, 77, of Red Bud, formerly of Broughton, died January 25, 2016 in Red Bud.
He was born on January 25, 1938 in Eldorado to the late Alfred and Alma(Flemings) Potts.
Robert was retired military serviceman with twenty years of service in the Air Force from 1958-1978. He had one tour of duty in South East Asia. He worked for Inland Steel Coal Co. for several years, then worked and retired from the Hamilton County Highway Department in 2001. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Eldorado and Sparta.
On October 13, 1956 he married Judy Belle Porter from Broughton and they have been married for 59 years and she survives in Red Bud. Also surviving is a son Mark (Barb) Potts of Red Bud. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Joshua (Laura) Potts of Willisville, Jennifer (Kevin) Voss of Red Bud, Jordan (Jeff) Litton of Red Bud, Jared Potts of Red Bud and Brandon Potts (his Fiance Samantha and her daughter Hope) of Sebring, FL and Ashley (Chad) Caldwell of Sebring, FL. And Great grandchildren: Logan Voss, Hailey Voss, Evan Potts, Trey Fritsch, Jaron Berner and Kayden Potts and Khloe Caldwell. He is also survived by a sister Beverly Jo (Gene) Givens of Pendleton, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews in and around the Eldorado, Harrisburg and Pendleton area. He was preceded in death by a son Randy Lee Potts, 3 brothers: V.A. Potts, Harold Potts and Paul "Denny" Potts and a sister Betty Mulvey.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado at 1:00 PM with Evangelist Sid Faulkner and High Priest Ron Soloman officiating. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service time of 1:00 PM.
