Betty Keller of Pinckneyville

Betty M. Keller, 80, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 4:38 a.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Betty had been a sales clerk for a uniform store and Kmart. She was of the Catholic faith. Betty loved to dance, listen to country music and play bingo. She also loved fishing and riding motorcycles.

She was born March 26, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the daughter of John Wesley and Stella Mae (Arnold) Hatchett.

She married Charles Ray Keller on Feb. 14, 2006 in Benton, Illinois and he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2021.

She is survived by three children, Gayla Langa of Salem, Illinois, Mary Langa of Nashville, Illinois and Scott (Jan) Langa of Sarasota, Florida; stepchildren, Jacki Lynn (Brad) Noward of Pinckneyville, Denise Marie Keller of Buckner, Illinois, Guy Steely of Tamaroa, Charles Steely of Du Quoin, and John (Noma) Suckoll of Herrin; one brother, Doug Hatchett of Mt. Carmel; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepson, Jim Steely; three sisters, Joyce Hall, Jane Stricklend and Bebe Hatchett; and three brothers, Jerry Hatchett, Allen Hatchett and Donald Hatchett.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Antioch Cemetery in Tamaroa with Fr. Carl Schrage officiating.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Friends are invited to make memorials in Betty's name to the Alzheimer's Association; they will be accepted at the funeral home.
