Winners named in Du Quoin holiday decorating contest

The judges have spoken and the winners have been named in the 2021 Du Quoin house decorating contest.

The contest represented a return to a popular event from the 1960s. Sixteen homeowners entered.

The Grand Prize winners are Scott Bietsch and Kathy Gendron, at 967 S. Lake Drive. They win $250 in gift certificates or certificates of their choice from a local Du Quoin business.

The first runners-up are Charlie and Monica Gaines, 124 Parker Ave. They win $175 in gift certificates.

Second runner-up is Donette Wheatley, 105 E. Cole St. Her prize is $125 in gift certificates.

Third runners-up are Justin and Heather Lemons, 864 N. West St. They win $75 in gift certificates.
