Submit your southern Illinois photos for the 2022 calendar!

Attention all southern Illinois amateur photographers!

Another year is winding its way to a close, and it is time once again to solicit the best local photos for our 2022 calendar. We're looking for scenes and people of southern Illinois. We'll pick one as the calendar cover, one for each of the 12 months and another eight as honorable mentions in the back of the calendar.

Email your HIGH RESOLUTION image or images to submissions@localsouthernnews.com by Nov. 12 to be considered for the 2022 calendar. If your photo is chosen your prize is a hearty virtual handshake, bragging rights and

a copy of the 2022 calendar.

You must tell us where the photo was taken, and if it is significant to the photo what equipment or special effect you used in taking it. Also, if there's a story behind the photo, please share it!

We also have to have your name, your town and a phone number (not for publication) where we can reach you. The photos you submit do not have to have been taken in 2021.
