Saline County briefs: Harrisburg boil order; COVID closes Head Start classes

<b>Harrisburg issues boil order Thursday</b>

The City of Harrisburg issued a boil order on Thursday for all of Humphrey Road and 285 Garden Heights Road. The order will be lifted once work is completed and tests deem the water safe.

<b>COVID-19 closes two Head Start classes</b>

Southern Seven Head Start has temporarily closed two classrooms in its Metropolis Head Start Early Learning Center following two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the building. Classes are expected to resume on Sept. 20 pending further investigation. The Head Start site closed another classroom on Aug. 30 due to a confirmed case of COVID-19. Students in that classroom are scheduled to return on Sept. 13. <b>ISP patrol finds 22 unbuckled people</b>

In an early September Illinois State Police patrol in Saline County, citations were written for 18 safety belt violations and one child restraint violation, District 19 Commander Capt. Nathan Douglas announced in a news release. The patrol was specifically looking for occupants of vehicles who were not buckled up. In all, 22 citations were written and there was one written warning. The program was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
