Shawneetown Legion donates to local police department

American Legion Post 585 in Shawneetown has donated $1,000 to the Shawneetown Police Department, in a ceremony that included Legion Adjutant Mark Harmon, Shawneetown Police Chief Gary Jones, Shawneetown Mayor David Barker, Legion Commander Tom Harmon and Officer Nick Capeheart.

In other Legion news, Post 585 has now opened its kitchen and is serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

The extensive menu includes real catfish dinners and rib-eye sandwiches, as well as our grilled tenderloins.
