Back to normal Students celebrate end of school with a day in the park

HARRISBURG - Students at East Side School celebrated the end of the unusual 2020-2021 school year with an evening of fun.

The school, with the help of the Saline County Sheriff's Office, Harrisburg Police Department, local businesses and plenty of volunteers celebrated at Harrisburg Township Park on May 20.

Students had the chance to try karaoke, play bag toss, fish with the help of Harrisburg High School's fishing team, explore a reading adventure thanks to Harrisburg District Library, play games with HHS FFA members and various other activities.

The end-of-year festivities were a welcome end to the days of remote learning and wearing masks that began in March of the 2019-2020 school year, according to teachers, students and parents.
