Marilyn Ellis named District VII Director

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - A local woman has been named the district director of garden clubs in southern Illinois.

On April 23, Eldorado Garden Study Club president Marilyn Ellis was sworn in as the District VII Director at the Pavilion on the grounds of the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.

District VII is made up of nine clubs scattered throughout southern Illinois.

All clubs are affiliated with the Garden Clubs of Illinois and the National Garden Clubs.

Ellis will preside over the district meetings, which are held twice each year. Dana Keating, Eldorado club secretary, will also head up the District's Blue Star Memorial Committee.
