Vaccine availability for 1B individuals in Saline and Gallatin counties

ELDORADO - Egyptian Health Department announced Tuesday morning that it's accepting appointments for individuals considered Phase 1B for COVID-19 vaccinations.

Residents of Saline, Gallatin and White counties who meet the criteria for 1B may make an appointment by calling (618) 273-3326.

Due to the volume of people calling for an appointment, it may be necessary to make more than one attempt to call.

According to Illinois Department of Public Health, Phase 1B criteria includes:

People age 65 and older

First responders

K-12 education

Food and agriculture

Manufacturing

Corrections workers and inmates

USPS workers

Public transit workers

Grocery store workers

Staff at shelters and day cares.

Illinois has 1.3 million people who qualify as "front-line essential workers" and 1.9 million adults age 65 and over, totaling 3.2 million eligible Illinoisans, according to IDPH.

EHD will be working with local health care providers to continue to provide vaccinations in our community.

Appointments are required and walk-ins will be not accepted. If possible please bring work identification/driver's license showing that you qualify for Phase 1B.

Egyptian Health Department will continue to give the COVID-19 vaccines to individuals that live or work in Saline, Gallatin and White Counties that are in Phase 1A.

Egyptian Health Department asks that you please be patient as EHD receives vaccines weekly and due to limited availability and logistics, appointments may be delayed.
