Last Carrier Mills recycling event Saturday

Electronics recycling returns Saturday, Oct. 17 to the village of Carrier Mills. The event is held from 9 a.m. until noon or until the truck is full on the Carrier Mills Municipal Building Parking lot, located at 101 N. Mill St.

We ask that if you participate to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a mask while at the drop-off location.

No longer can you throw electronics away and to be taken to a landfill. Anything that can be plugged in is required to be recycled. On Saturday, a recycler will be present and will collect anything that you can plug in and no longer works or that you don't want. For a very small cost you have a local location to dispose of electronics properly.

All TVs, computer monitors and flat screens will cost $10.

Due to recycling costs, the following items are no longer accepted for free: vacuums, microwaves, printers and copiers now cost $1 to be recycled.

Paint and tires will not be accepted.

The event is not limited to Carrier Mills residents; anyone from the area may bring items and this will probably be the last electronic event for the year.
