MARION -- Thanks to a few hours of fun, one Marion family will enjoy a birthday celebration at Holiday World.
When Cassie Gossett saw the Marion Republican scavenger hunt in last week's paper, she thought it might be a nice activity to share with her son Carmeron, 12, and daughter, Lucy, 10.
"We thought it was a cool idea," she said, "especially since we've been cooped up inside from COVID."
Gossett said the three started their adventure around 10:30 a.m. and completed it about three hours later, creating a collage of their efforts.
Those efforts won them a family pack of Holiday World passes which they plan to use the weekend of Aug. 2 to celebrate the birthdays of Lucy and Cassie.
"We are planning to camp at Camp Rudolph, too," said Cassie.
"We weren't expecting to win," she added. "We were just going out to have some fun."
