High school art Local students display their best at SIC
SALINE COUNTY - Some of the region's best high school artists currently have their work on display at Southeastern Illinois College's Ella Elizabeth Hise Museum of Regional Art.
For one Eldorado artist, it's something he plans to continue after he graduates.
"I've pretty much always been making art," Kyle Phelps said, during Sunday's reception for the art show. "I can't remember not doing it, really."
Phelps said he prefers drawing, but he recently branched out into mixed media. The decision landed him a first-place ribbon for his work "Invincible."
Abigail Ross took best-of-show honors.
The show may be viewed at the museum, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Friday, March 6.
