District 300 Foundation dinner coming May 6

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_132_250" tabindex="0">On May 6, the District 300 Educational Foundation will host the 11th annual foundation dinner at Du Quoin High School.</span> <br /> More than 60 scholarships will be awarded to graduating Du Quoin High School seniors at this event. Four students also will be honored through the foundation recognition program.<br /> Tickets cost $15 per individual or $30 per couple and will be available at the door. <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_516_647" tabindex="0">Awards and scholarships will be presented starting at 5:30 p.m. in the DHS Hibbs Auditorium, followed by dinner in the DHS Commons.</span><br /> The foundation has awarded about 500 scholarships totaling more than $500,000 and funded a number of instructional projects since its inception nearly 11 years ago.<br /> The foundation's success is due in no small part to community organizations, groups and individuals who have contributed; to the Illinois Dollars for Scholars Program, John A. Logan College and Murray State University that have provided matching funds; and Pepsi MidAmerica, which underwrites a large part of the cost of this event.<br /> For more information, contact the school district at 618-542-3856.
