HHS Homecoming, 'Hollywood Lights' starts Thursday

Harrisburg High School Homecoming 2021 events kick off Thursday with the Homecoming Parade, done to the theme, "Hollywood Lights."

The HHS Student Council announced the theme on Monday, saying it is inspired by all of our favorite movies and movie stars throughout the years. It features a Hollywood and "red carpet" atmosphere and celebrates the excitement of the cinema.

The events are as follows:

Thursday, Sept. 16

The Homecoming parade steps off at 3 p.m., with student entries as well as entries from the community at large. The council asks that all floats be decorated with a Hollywood or movie theme in mind. If you are a community entry, you must register yourself at the parade Facebook page: www.facebook.com/HHS-Homecoming-Parade-1944734679101772.

7 p.m. is the Homecoming bonfire at Taylor Field, along with the announcement of the 2021 Mr. Bulldog winner.

Friday, Sept. 17

The HHS Homecoming football game against West Frankfort kicks off at 7 p.m. in Taylor Field.

Saturday, Sept. 18

The HHS Homecoming Dance and Coronation will be held from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The coronation will be live-streamed from the HHS Facebook page at 7:30 p.m. and is not open to the public this year.
